Huge congratulations to our friends at Chichester Festival Theatre and Stubcroft Farm Campsite for their fantastic wins at the Beautiful South Awards, run by Tourism South East, which recognise achievements in the tourism sector under the continued challenges of 2021/22.

Chichester Festival Theatre was awarded Gold in the Ethical, Responsible and Sustainable category, and the win sees the Theatre now shortlisted in the same category at the national Visit England Awards for Excellence 2022. The award recognises the Festival Theatre’s commitment to being sustainable, responsible and ethical in how the Theatre operates and interacts with visitors, the community and the environment, and its Green Strategy which includes initiatives such as recycling COVID-19 tests and PPE, replacing the Minerva lighting with low-impact LEDs, a free cycle hire scheme for visiting artists, and the local supply chain of caterers Caper & Berry.

Stubcroft Farm Campsite held triple celebrations as Gold winners of both Campsite of the Year and the Accessible & Inclusive Tourism of the Year category, and Silver award winners in the Responsible, Ethical & Sustainable Tourism category. Stubcroft has continually worked to make the campsite a sustainable place to stay, and it is at the very heart of the family-run operation, from green energy and recycling schemes to protecting local nature and supporting the local community.
