It’s no surprise, to those of us who live here, that there is a vibrant art scene in Sussex, but it’s only when you see the wide range of art venues laid out in Helen Cann’s Sussex art map, inspired by Eric Ravilious and the Bloomsbury Group, that you realise how rich the offer really is.
The map was commissioned and appears in the latest issue of ROSA (Review of Sussex Arts Magazine) where you’ll also find an article about John Craxton. Pallant House Gallery has a retrospective of over 100 Craxton works until 21 April. John Craxton was a great mucca of Lucian Freud when they were both at Goldsmith’s in the 1940’s and in the early part of his career was more successful. Discover why Craxton's work is going through a revival at this impressive show.
