Chichester Cathedral celebrates feature in Which's Best Free Days Out

The iconic spire of Chichester Cathedral is undoubtedly Chichester's most recognisable landmark, signifying over 900 years of history. The majestic Cathedral has featured in Which? Magazine's round up of "the UK's 17 best rated museums, galleries, cathedrals and other historical sites that are free to visit".

The consumer magazine polled 4000 visitors to rank over 100 museums, galleries and attractions to find the country's best days out - both for experience and value for money.  Among the free to visit attractions, Chichester Cathedral ranked 3rd. The magazine explained, "Chichester's glorious spire can be seen from miles across the flower meadows of West Sussex. It's also the only medieval English cathedral visible from the sea."

Chichester Cathedral was the only free attraction in Sussex to make the list, surpassing some of the nation's most famous attractions including the Natural History and Science museums. A spokeperson comments "We are thrilled to be recognised among the UK's best free historic attractions, and proud to represent Sussex on this prestigious list, welcoming thousands of visitors and pilgrims through our doors over the past year. Our heartfelt thanks go to our dedicated staff, volunteers, and supporters - we couldn't do it without them!"
