Fitzcane’s Cafe sits in the heart of beautiful Midhurst, nestled in the centre of the South Downs National Park.
We pride ourselves on serving excellent, locally roasted coffee, along with a simple, no fuss menu of hearty breakfasts, homemade waffles, light lunches and afternoon treats. We are proud to partner with the amazing Vegan Cielo Cakery, Brighton and also offer a range of their wonderful goodies. We also serve delicious Mooka ice cream, handmade in Steep, Hampshire. We strive to give good value with generous portions and bottomless filter coffee. We also try to be responsible buyers, choosing local wherever we can. Gluten free bread and cakes, as well as milk alternatives, are always available.
We welcome your dog! We sell ‘Scoops’ ice cream for dogs! Perfect for cooling down your pooch on a hot summer day. Follow up with a nice drink of cool water from our dog bowls which are always available year round. We sell indestructible tennis balls, dog shampoo, doggie birthday treats and more!
But why the name Fitzcane’s? Around 1105 King Henry I gave lands including Midhurst and Easebourne to Savaric Fitzcane (or Fitzcana) a fortune hunter from Normandy. One of his sons built a small manor house on St Anne’s Hill, and another descendant built the original home at Cowdray in about 1280. So with its local historical connections, we thought that would be a fine name for our cafe!
We are located next to North Street car park where you can enjoy the first hour of parking free of charge.
Our opening hours are from 8:30am – 5:00 pm Monday to Friday, and 9:00am – 5:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
