Over the Easter period, we brought our latest campaign to life with a new video celebrating the South Downs. Filmed across a day that offered everything from soft grey skies to bursts of sunshine, the changing conditions only added to the atmosphere and authenticity of the final piece.
This film is the latest addition to our growing portfolio of high quality video content showcasing the very best of West Sussex. Each video is designed not only to inspire visitors, but also to provide partners with engaging, shareable assets that support wider destination promotion. You can explore the full collection on our YouTube channel.
A Collaborative Approach to Storytelling
The route was based on an itinerary developed by @thesouthdownsgirl, demonstrating the value of working closely with local experts and influencers to craft compelling, experience-led content.
From initial planning and location scouting through to weather tracking and crew coordination, this project was a true collaborative effort. It also marked my first involvement in a campaign video of this scale, offering a fantastic opportunity to see first-hand how these assets are created and how they can support our collective marketing ambitions.
Showcasing the Best of the South Downs
Starting early and finishing late, Helen and I travelled across South Harting, Cocking and West Dean, capturing a diverse range of experiences along the way.
The footage highlights the richness of the destination, from sweeping landscapes and wildlife encounters to heritage sites, gardens and exceptional food and drink. Importantly, it also brings to life the character and quality of the local businesses that make the South Downs such a distinctive and appealing place to visit.

Supporting Your Marketing Activity
This video has been created with both visitors and our partners in mind. It is a valuable tool that can be easily shared across your own channels to inspire audiences and drive engagement with the destination, and with a view to increasing footfall and dwell time.
We encourage you to watch the film and consider how you might incorporate it into your marketing activity, whether through social media, websites or visitor communications.
