In the South Downs
See extraordinary restored 14th century wallpaintings at St George's church, Trotton, West Sussex. Discovered under whitewash in 1904, the church's entire west wall is covered by an unusual painting of the Last Judgement, which has been painstakingly restored to bring out the detail in the original pigments used in the 14th century.
