Things to do in Chichester

Explore the historic city of Chichester, from the Roman city walls to the tranquil green spaces, and discover stories of the city across 2000 years. What will you discover beneath the iconic spite of our magnificent Cathedral? Marvel at the Roman remains housed in The Novium Museum.

Explore Chichester's cultural side at a production at Chichester Festival Theatre, whether you're a fan of classic musicals, thrilling drama or rib-tickling comedy, or be immersed in art at Pallant House Gallery - one of the most respected galleries for modern British Art outside of The Tate. Why not follow our tour of Chichester's amazing street art?

Row or paddle along the canal - a gem hidden away just a short walk from the city centre -  or enjoy a scenic boat trip along this remnant of the former Portsmouth & Arundel Canal. A wildlife haven, meet the resident swans, ducks, moorhens and coots - you might even be lucky enough to spot a flash of orange and turquoise as a Kingfisher fishes for lunch.

Chichester and the surrounding areas boast excellent golf courses and places to fish or enjoy water sports - perfect for thrill-seekers, as are there cycle routes which lead from the city centre to the coast or into the glorious countryside. No need to bring a bike, there's bike hire or guided cycle tours on hand.
