Walk the streets of wartime Chichester.
This trail allows you to follow the footsteps of people living in Chichester during the Great War. From 1914 to 1918, the lives of Cicestrians were altered as the city was mobilised for the war effort. Soldiers and nurses were a common sight in the city as were collections for war charities and signs to support local businesses during the war. By walking the routes of wartime Chichester we can understand how the city was changed. Cicestrians participated in the Great War both on the battlefields and at home on the streets of Chichester.
This trail is part of the Chichester in the Great War project run by the University of Chichester, the Chichester Community Development Trust and Gateways to the First World War.
