When is the best time to surf?

Surfers visit the beaches most of the year round, but autumn/winter is undoubtedly the best season to catch the waves. The beautiful, unspoilt coastline and great views across to the Isle of Wight coupled with friendly locals, uncrowded waves and good local facilities make it a good spot.

 

Local operators, 2XS based in West Wittering and Shore based in East Wittering offer local surf reports as well as equipment hire, tuition.

 

How do I get there?

Please note that to visit West Wittering beach you must pre-book a car parking space – more information here. East Wittering Beach and it’s neighbour Bracklesham Bay offer public car parking

 

What facilities are there?

At West Wittering beach you will find showers, toilets and a cafe. Lifeguards patrol the beach in the summer months. 2XS offers hire membership as well as club membership, and offers wifi, hot showers, events, tuition and a hire/demo centre.

 

At East Wittering, just behind the beach you will find the village centre, packed with shops, cafes and pubs. Toilets are located in the public car park (postcode PO20 8HE)
