Today’s lifeboat station at Selsey operates an all weather Shannon class lifeboat (AWL 13-20 ‘Denise and Eric’) and a D class inshore lifeboat (ILB D-827 ‘Flt Lt John Buckley RAF’).  Over its 150-year History the Crew have been presented with 10 awards for gallantry.

The welfare of our volunteers, supporters and staff, along with our ability to maintain our world-class lifesaving service is our priority. We have taken the decision to close all RNLI shops, museums and visitor centres with immediate effect. Our lifeboat stations remain operational but will not be open to visitors. Our lifeboats will continue to launch to those in peril at sea – and they need your support more than ever.
