Looking for down time with a spot of sightseeing? Priory park is the place to go. In the North-East quadrant of the City Centre, Priory Park is home to three scheduled monuments; the Roman city walls, The Guildhall – a Grade 1 listed building dating back to 1282 – and the remains of a Norman motte.
The park is a community hub, used for events including Coronations, Jubilees, Real Ale and Jazz Festivals, so check what’s on when you visit as a treat may already be lined up for you! It’s also home to a children’s play area, aviary, bowling green, cricket square, and Fenwicks Café, so take your time and make the most of what’s on offer.
