There is so much to see and do across the Chichester District, making it the perfect place for a weekend away. Here is an example of a fun and eco-friendly itinerary that incorporates The Downs to the dunes, put together by Naomi Willis who’s studying Tourism Management at University of Chichester.
A great place to stay for a green trip away is Stubcroft Farm Camp Site situated at The Witterings which has many green initiatives in place.
The first day combines a fun outing to Dunreyth Alpacas and a hike around Kingley Vale which rewards you with the most stunning panoramic views at the top!

The second day encompasses a visit to Chichester Golf Club for a round of competitive crazy golf – be prepared for a wooden raft ride and to dodge the squirting elephant as well as rescuing your golf ball from the water if you hit it too hard! This is followed by a trip to the scenic beach at West Wittering for some relaxation and a selfie on the beach with the dunes, and on a clear day with The Isle of Wight in the background.

In between activities, it is easy find somewhere for some locally produced food and drink.
This itinerary includes a stop at Luckes for a healthy, organic lunch, a sea view dinner at Billy’s on the Beach, a traditional tasty homemade meal at The Spotted Cow and a delicious dinner at Hallidays Restaurant with fresh, locally grown vegetables and herbs
Everything can be accessed either via bus or eBike meaning a car isn’t required.
