Denmans Garden – John Brookes Lecture 2022 – Art and the Garden

A panel discussion exploring the relationship between Art and the Garden, from the influence modern art has had on garden design to how artists find inspiration in the garden. Celebrating the special connection between an artist’s eye and their interpretation of the Garden, the question as to whether the garden itself can be art will also be considered.
The panel will include John Brookes-Denmans Foundation Chair Gwendolyn van Paasschen, Denmans Garden’s inaugural Artist in Residence Sue England and internationally acclaimed garden designer Annie Guilfoyle. There will be the opportunity to visit the garden and look at Sue England’s exhibition in the Pavilion before the John Brookes lecture begins.
